I'm a notorious procrastinator. Can I really stick to the project? Can I post one photo a day for 365 days? The pressure is almost unbearable.

(I DID IT! I stuck to the original project and in 2010 I took two photographs every day, for two different groups! I'm going to continue to add 365 photos per year to this blog, but they probably will not be taken on consecutive days. That is too much to ask...)

It was an interesting morning cloud-wise. This was taken on the way to the farm at about 8 AM

45 minutes later on the way to Skaneateles. Skaneateles Lake is the the body of water in the photo and this was taken right by the county line at a scenic pull-off.

A little further down the road. I wish I could have captured the ones right above the horizon, but these were all taken on my cell phone. :-)

Life is tough...

I feel this way most of the time. I certainly feel tougher after the past year, but not tougher at the same time. Having been diagnosed with cancer just makes you look at things differently. Sometimes you take a tougher approach than you may have in the past, sometimes tougher just doesn't work.

feathers find me

tiny feather, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

You can see how tiny this feather is. I found it on a wet, dark brown boardwalk at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. You can imagine how much it blended in, but I still spotted it. This has been an amazing summer of feather finds. Because of my cancer surgery and treatment, I was home for most of the summer and many days never left. But I always went outside for a bit to get some fresh air and to bemoan the fact that no gardening was getting done. And over the course of the summer I found probably 7 or 8 Blue Jay feathers. I never actively looked--they were just where I happened to be looking. I took it as a sign that my guardian angel was indeed sticking close and doing her job. :-)

felted creations

felted creations, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

We went to a fiber festival today. It was a fundraiser for a local theater. I didn't find any yarn for myself, but it was fun and colorful!

well

My "other" pond, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

I have been absent here for a long time. I just looked through many of these photos and decided that I needed to start adding photos again, need to be creative again. The last year has had it's share of sorrow for me, having lost my beloved Casper and having been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. But many good things happened too, and I have made some new friends, so life does indeed go on.
