I'm a notorious procrastinator. Can I really stick to the project? Can I post one photo a day for 365 days? The pressure is almost unbearable.

(I DID IT! I stuck to the original project and in 2010 I took two photographs every day, for two different groups! I'm going to continue to add 365 photos per year to this blog, but they probably will not be taken on consecutive days. That is too much to ask...)

365/365 ONE!!

365/365 ONE!!, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

One great year, one great group of friends, one big celebration and perhaps a little surprise. Something is under wraps in the back there.

Well, I did it. I may not have posted on the blog every day, but I took a picture everyday and it ended up in the blog eventually. :-) I will definitely keep blogging photos and may even be doing another 365 with a new object. If I miss a day or two with a new one, I won't care so much because I know I CAN do it.

353/365 I bought this for myself

Not the grandkids. The artwork is stunning. It won the Caldecott Medal this year as well as the Coretta Scot King Award. It is a beautiful book. I did share it with Diesel & Feezle. :-) I have a whole small collection of artsy kids books that the grandkids have never even seen...Bad Oma.

My oldest niece Carrie had her first baby. She has been trying for at least 5 years so this is a huge blessing and we are all thrilled! Tommy looks quite a bit like his dad here.

clock details--front, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

Last years Christmas present from Butch. I actually ordered it and he had no idea what I had ordered for him to give me till it arrived. But I had no idea what it look like because the woman custom paints the and I just told her to put a random assortment of white and colored BTs on it. That way we were both surprised. He wrapped it up when it came and told me I would love it, and he was right. This is the detail of the back side of the clock.

334/365 Countdown to christmas

334/365 Countdown to christmas, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

Seriously, my job makes me hate Christmas to a certain extant and I hate that about my job. So I'm going to try to stay in the holiday spirit this year. I'll let you know how that works. (We watched the CMA music christmas special yesterday and that really helped. Lots of good performances of real Christmas songs. You know the ones we used to sing all the time before it became politically incorrect. Trust the country folks to not be afraid to tell you why the word Christ is in Christmas. LOL)

333/365 The sky is ablaze tonight

My first editing job. There were (and still are) telephone/electric wires in this shot and I managed to get them out, but I really didn't know what I was doing and the wire is still evident in the tree...I'm just getting to learn the Aperture program on my new iMac.

This so makes me think of "Gone With the Wind" and that scene when Atlanta was burning.

331/365 Porky Pine

331/365 Porky Pine, originally uploaded by phlegmmy.

I came across this Porky Pine figure while cleaning a closet...

From the comic strip Pogo--

"a porcupine, a misanthrope and cynic; prickly on the outside, but with a heart of gold. The deadpan Porky never smiles in the strip (except once, allegedly, when the lights were out). Pogo's best friend, equally honest, reflective and introverted, and with a keen eye both for goodness and for human foibles. The swamp's version of Eeyore, Porkypine is grumpy and melancholy by nature, and sometimes speaks of his "annual suicide attempt". He wears an undersized, plaid Pinky Lee-type hat (with an incongruously tall crown and upturned brim) and a perpetual frown, and is rarely seen without both. Porky has two weaknesses: his infatuation for Miz Mam'selle Hepzibah and a complete inability to tell a joke. He unfailingly arrives on Pogo's doorstep with a flower every Christmas morning, although he's always as embarrassed by the sentiment as Pogo is touched. He has a nephew named Tacky and a look-alike cousin named Uncle Baldwin."
