I'm a notorious procrastinator. Can I really stick to the project? Can I post one photo a day for 365 days? The pressure is almost unbearable.

(I DID IT! I stuck to the original project and in 2010 I took two photographs every day, for two different groups! I'm going to continue to add 365 photos per year to this blog, but they probably will not be taken on consecutive days. That is too much to ask...)

PSSSSSST! I did it for a whole month and never missed a day!
31/365

Today's picture is actually three individual photos that tell a story. The individual pix can be seen on my flickr photostream. I found miniature food on a designer toy site and it was too good to pass up. Little donuts and plates and donut boxes and a mug of tea, just the right size for the lil doubleheaders and their friend slinky.

We used to do donuts as a Sunday treat and still do occasionally, just not on a morning like today when it is 0 degrees.

30/365

I was tired yesterday--I wrote the wrong number. I feel better today even though I haven't done anything constructive at all. I did a little on-line shopping, took a few photos, filled my bird feeders, caught up on some back issuses of magazines, played on the computer, paid a couple of bills, watched Fringe and Project Runway from this week. Wait, I guess I did do a lot. I had a fleeting thought about straightening up the laundry/sewing/craft area, but then it fleetly went away and I just took a picture of some of the fabric.

Casper appears to be missing something...

27/365

An oldie but a goodie. Timmy in all his glory. It was a long day, 10 hours at work, a hair appointment and fretting all day because Casper was "under the knife" again. She had a growth removed from inside her ear and had 3 teeth removed, along with getting her teeth cleaned.

We're all tired but my hair looks really nice. LOL (The growth in her ear was nothing to worry about either.)

Work was FRUSTRATING once again today so I had two glasses of wine with dinner and I feel so much better. However my photographic endeavors suffered a bit. Although I did like this shot of Diesel with a donut sprinkle stuck to his felt. I sometimes have a hard time getting them in focus, but I really think it is because they are inherently fuzzy. The sprinkle came out quite sharp.

For Marti, a little bigger shot of the button box. You just never know what you will find. How the two different sized leather covered buttons ended up together is beyond me. Like a button and a button mini-me. Twasn't planned or contrived.

I'm finally having an excuse to indulge in my love of little toys. One of the people in my "one object" flickr group is using a "Slinky", the little slinky dog from Toy Story. Since I am really committed to doing this photo project, I have been keeping a notebook with ideas and I have been looking for "props". I found these little Toy Story toys, including Slinky, at WalMart. The group admin has seen it and commented, so I'm hoping the real Slinky's owner will see it as well. I have ordered a King Ken and I can't wait to get that. The King Ken 365 series is one of my favorites. I can't wait to see Butch's reaction when I open a little box of toys that will be coming in the mail. I expect a bit of eye-rolling. :-D

Coffee! Give me coffee! It was one of those days where I couldn't get motivated. I read, and did some laundry, played on the computer. It was our annual family get-together. We do it on or near my parents anniversary instead of Christmas. It was fun seeing everyone but now I just want a nap. :-)

23/365

I went to the farm today but didn't really take pictures of the horses. They get in my face so much and are too close to me that I get awkward gigantic horse heads. But I love July's feet, and the colors in them. This didn't quite capture the colors, but you get the idea.

The other picture I took was the path they have made in the snow up to the pasture. I should have taken a picture of the enormous pile of poop outside of the lean-to. I don't think July lets Maddie go inside, or maybe she only gets to get part way in because there is a big pile of poop right outside the door. Maybe I'll take a pic the next time I go up since most of my followers are horse people!

It was a beautiful, sunny but cold day and the snow looked like it had diamonds in it. You can see how blue the sky was. It was so nice to have sun all day for a change!

Friday, January 22, 2010

22/365 I am never on this side of the camera. I did it for the blog. And yes, those are Christmas ornaments still hanging. I'm having a hard time taking down the "Jack" ornaments and my phlemingos stay up there all the time anyway. It also gives you a good idea as to the size of the doubleheader.

21/365 Casper decided to sit with me in the dining room.

20/365

I needed this little tin of chocolate today. It's probably a good thing that it is only 1.5 ounces of chocolate. (Actually I ate very little of it, but it was nice to know it was there in a pinch. It was one of those days where I just couldn't wait to get out of work.)

19/365 Sneak preview! Meet Rhiney, who will make his debut in the One Object 365 group tomorrow.

Tangled confetti photographed with the macro setting. I'm playing with the new camera.

Casper and the doubleheader in one shot! Well, sort of. Caspers front feet anyway. I had fun this morning shopping for props for the 365 series. Today, Casper is the prop.

17/365

I am having so much fun with the "little doubleheaders" and the 365 days project. I have ordered another needle felted creation and have decided to use it in a "storyline" Here are Diesel & Feezle waiting for the new guy.

"We are awaiting a new arrival, as patiently as Jacobobs can wait. I told them
that the mail wouldn't be here for hours but the beauty of having two heads is
that they can watch both directions on the road! (Please forgive the screen
mucking up the shot. This is storytelling, not photographic art! :-D) I don't
think the new arrival will be here today, in which case we will have to wait
until Tuesday and I will just have to take them on an outing to keep their
excitement level down. Jacobobs are like wee bull terriers when they get
excited. And you know how that is..."

" To keep the 'Bobs occupied while waiting for the new arrival, I had them do a
project--knitting Rhiney a scarf. An argument ensued about garter stitch versus
stockinette and the next thing you know, there was a sword fight with knitting
needles. No one was hurt but that project was abandoned. The 'Bobs aren't
speaking to each other at the moment but this too shall pass."

I have no idea why the quoted part aligns peculiarly...

16/365
Yesterday was Casper's birthday so today is all about her. (She's 9!!)

Part of her present was an assortment of cookies. She gets 2 cookies at bedtime and if she has behaved when necessary. (After ear cleaning, nail clipping, bath, whathaveyou) We tried the Wagatha's so far, just to try one and she approved.

Just popping in to update on yesterday's post. I did contact Diesel & Feezle's creator and told her about the 365 project starring the dynamic duo. Here is her response.

You ARE a dear! Im just having a good laugh at those photos. I so needed that!
I'll be back often to see how they come along for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing how you can possibly make 356 of just those guys. I have to agree too that the TV photo is also my favorite too.

I think I should perhaps join one of those 365 groups because I can really see how it could stretch ones creativity. Really a great idea.

Thanks so much for the link and also thank you from the bottom of my heart for picking the little double header for your subject. Makes me feel a bit humble :o)

I am so pleased that she is enjoying the pictures. "little double header" LOL

The 'Bobs are becoming very popular with my bull terrier friends. I do have to admit they are cute and may have to alert their creator to the project.

Sunny and warmish today. The snow melted just a little over one of the stepping stone paths. I know we're a long way from being done with winter, but days like today make it a little more tolerable.

My lil dudes were up late last night watching UP on the iTouch. They kept giggling at Kevin. I think they liked his bright colors.

13/365

I've done this for almost two weeks. Amazing. It was a fairly sunny day in central NY so I took a few pics when I went out back to fill my bird feeders. I love my little patch of woods.

12/365

Still slacking. LOL I used one picture for two 365 groups. With an inside nod to my fellow 365-er, poopoe, who is IN the picture. The theme for one group was memories, so I pinned Diesel & feezle to the bulletin board where I keep some of last years Christmas cards from my horse and bullie peeps. Other horse friends on the pic are P&G, Daphne Tuxedo and horses owned by Maria and WyoCris (I htink it's WyoCris)

Once I get familiar with the new camera--watch out!

11/365

I feel like such a slacker, because I only took project pictures again today, but have replaced the non-working camera and just need to learn how to use the new one. The battery is charging right now. For today's blog pic, a chubby cheeked baby will have to do. My six month old grandson Brennan.

10/365

My new camera doesn't seem to be working. Bummed about that, so I have only taken project pictures today. My "one object" group is having a scavenger hunt and one of the items was 2010, so I felt it was a good way to explain how they are made. The 2 and the 1 are just started to be needlefelted, where the two o's are just plain rovong. The little dudes are made by needlefelting, but by someone much more patient and talented than I am.

9/365

After over a week with almost no sunshine, it was beautifully clear this morning and the sun finally came out. Butch and I were in the car when the sun broke through and we were greeted with a gorgeous sundog. I had my camera but didn't want to ask him to stop since we were on our way somewhere. There were periods of snow but the sun was out for most of the morning anyway.

None of these are "official" pix. I'm finding myself putting the also-rans here. This was Casper this morning. The two of us had been under the afghan and I'm not sure how she got her head under it when I left, but she did. It ain't much of a Casper fix, but still, it's so her.

This is the split rail fence that is around the horse pasture on the side of the driveway.

And every shrub and tree seemed to be coated with snow. I have a new camera and it has a setting for bright conditions which I used and I probably should have played with the exposure and levels and whatnot but I didn't and these are just as I took them, with no manipulation.

I'm really tired of the snow, but it was breathtakingly beautiful today. For all of my other pictures, you can always check out my flickr page.

8/365

OhMyGod we had 30 seconds of sunshine for the first time in about 5 days! I could barely get the camera fast enough.

7/365

This is not an official picture--for those you'll have to check out my flickr page. This was just one of those priceless Casper moments. Butch and I were having a glass of wine. I was at the computer and he was watching TV. He went to the kitchen for a moment and came back to find Casper had moved from her spot. He says to me, in the next room, "come look at your animal." Luckily the camera was nearby.

6/365 This is the photo I used today. I liked the way the snow was on July's eyelashes. It's more obvious on a larger photo.

It has snowed everyday here and I am tired of it. But the girls don't seem to mind it at all. I couldn't get a decent pic of Maddie because July was feeling lovey. She's not my horse but I am apparently her human. Maddie managed to get a candy cane and that made her happy. July doesn't like candy canes. More for Maddie!!

New pressure! I have two followers. (Okay, so they are friends of mine, it's not like someone stumbled upon my blog and thought--ooh, these are nice photos.) Today I wanted to play with color and just got frustrated with my camera. It's getting old and it is being obstinate sometimes. But I love the colors of this yarn the way the strands cross each other. So I chose this one for one group.

Then for my "One Object" group I chose this one.

Pure silliness, but that is what these two are all about...

Gaye and Marti, I hope you enjoy this adventure. Kick my butt if I get complacent. :-)

Monday, January 4, 2010

I made it to day 4!! LOL My favorite subject--Casper. She was lurking under my desk. It's way too cold out to be outside snapping photos so I turned to my little muse and said "Do something cute!" She just stopped and looked at me. She's just cute without even trying.

January 3 2010 3/365

This was the "One Subject" photo today, Diesel & Feezle trying out for a job at Sea World. The salt water made them itchy so they are going to keep looking. They did like Ray though, since he is also needle felted, they felt a certain kinship.

January 2, 2010

Chasmanthium latifolia, also known as Northern Sea Oats, one of the few grasses that will grow well in a shade garden. They add great interest in the winter. Not one of the official 365's photo.

Jan 2, 2010

New decade, new blog.

I started this after joining two 1/365 groups at flickr. I really want to keep up with the photographs, so plan to have enough to add to a blog. There will be a photo everyday, and I hope an entry made here. I assume there are just going to be days (like today) where more than one is added at a time.

We'll see.

January 1, 2010

The Official start of both groups. I started the year with a horrific bruise that happened over a week ago. The two little dudes are Diesel and Feezle and they are the object in my "one object" group, so they may show up here frequently. The other daily pix may not be the ones I use in the other groups, because I am taking so many pictures.

Diesel & Feezle like the fact that their face is the same color as the bruise.
