She's feeling so much better she was driving me nuts today. She finally settled down on her bed for a bit. I'm just so glad she's feeling better!

Another cool little caterpillar. He was on the house, right next to the front door. He's not in the field guide I have for caterpillars, though.

Not the most flattering of photos, but you can see how bow-legged she is in the rear. She finally felt pretty good by Saturday and hopped up into her chair without help. Good news!
230/365 Not having a good day
She's bowlegged and has bad knees. She had some trouble getting up this afternoon, poor little thing. She's resting now, has had some aspirin and all of her beds have memory foam added. Hopefully she'll be back to normal in the AM.

228/365
One of my friends said she hoped that when I was done with my photo projects that I would still continue to blog about my photos. I'm pretty sure I will. I have enjoyed both projects, but sometimes the deadlines and rules about taking the picture on that day find me scrambling at the end of the day for anything to shoot. What I have really liked is that I am constantly looking at the world around me in a totally different way and I am never without my camera. There are a lot of photo challenges like scavenger hunts and color challenges and they leave you a little more lee-way when your life gets in the way and you don't have time. I am such a procrastinator that I will have to have some sort of project or goal or I will probably slack off. (I like how Marti, another friend, has challenged herself in the color challenge to try to find two of each color--something organic and something manmade.) So rest assured Louise, I will continue to keep the camera handy!
226/365 A portrait of the boys
Artist Jim Coon, who loved Diesel & Feezle and who felt that we must be related due to the things that we talked about.

221/365 It's been a whole year
Last year at the beginning of August, one of the bull terriers from my flickr group went missing. He was being walked by his owner and they got to an area where he could be safely off leash and she let him go and he simply vanished. She scoured the area for days, called his name, posted flyers, did everything she could. A week passed and we had all but given up hope when some fisherman spotted a white lump along the very steep bank of the nearby river. They assumed it was Alfie's body. Then it moved! It WAS Alfie and he was alive. He had fallen down the embankment but could not get up because the sides at that point were almost vertical. He must have tried valiantly judging from the worn off toenails and scrapes to his underside.
Unfortunately, due to his injuries, he was suffering from peritonitis and after being home for a few days, it was apparent that he was not well and was rushed to the vet, but there was no saving him. He managed to come home to his mum and dad to say goodbye and the bull terrier community around the world went on a roller coaster ride of emotion, between heartsickness at his loss, jubilation at his rescue and devestation at his eventual death. It was what really cemented our group, with members from around the world and it brought us all so much closer.
The one year anniversary was yesterday. It still makes me sad and I never even met Alfie or his owner as they live in the UK.

I have this problem at work with my pencils always coming up missing and it irritates the life out of me. So I decided to buy my own so people will hopefully know if they pick it up and it isn't a standard issue yellow pencil, they they will PUT IT BACK. I will be able to track them down easier, too. Courtesy people, courtesy!
219/365 Sunflowers!
Three different varieties of my favorite flower at $1. a stem. So beautiful, so cheerful.

Taken over my shoulder in the car. Casper decided we would go for a ride. I decided we would stop for ice cream.
217/365 napping on the knee
After a rough week at work, I relaxed in my pj's with Casper in my lap. Truly the best way to end a day.

I am also in a photographic scavenger hunt and needed a picture of a commercial truck. I just thought the name on this one was funny.

another piece of art I was drawn to
No pun intended. I liked the shape of this as it reminded me of a hammered dulcimer--or one that got squished.
