I'm a notorious procrastinator. Can I really stick to the project? Can I post one photo a day for 365 days? The pressure is almost unbearable.

(I DID IT! I stuck to the original project and in 2010 I took two photographs every day, for two different groups! I'm going to continue to add 365 photos per year to this blog, but they probably will not be taken on consecutive days. That is too much to ask...)

Fred

I think it's Fred, but honestly I don't know. The one who fluffs up like this the most is the one who will chase the Canada Geese away from the other swan if they get too close so I assume that is the male swan. He almost looked like he was sunning himself here. (Not quite like an Anhinga...) because no one was around except the other swan. These two are SO cumbersome on land it is almost comical to watch. They fold their necks so that their beaks are almost on their breast and they slowly waddle around on their big, black, rubbery looking feet. They also occasionally list to one side while swimming and flap a foot out of the water. I have no idea what that is about, but I could watch them for hours.
